In a recent study, a team of researchers performed a blind comparison between the quality of orthodontic care provided by general dentists, on the one hand, and orthodontists on the other. The findings, which were shared in the Angle Orthodontist journal, indicated a distinct contrast in the level of care received by clients of orthodontists versus the clients of regular dentists. Two groups of 30 patients each were involved in the study, with half of them treated by qualified orthodontists and the other half by general dentists with no orthodontic training.

Before orthodontists and general dentists go to dental school, they must get a bachelors degree from a college or college.
